It’s been a good ride

14 Dec

For the past few years I’ve thoroughly enjoyed blogging with this wordpress blog.  The interface and presentation has been enjoyable and very user friendly.  I’ve recently moved my website to a new hosting platform and with it I can now integrate blogging directly into my website.  Not only that, but I can split my blog into two (or more) categories, which I have done.  All of the content of this blog has not been integrated into my new site which can be found at www.jmphotographyonline.ca with a recent work blog and a Personal work blog The recent work blog is home to my wedding and portrait work and the personal work blog is home to a lot of my street work and other personal shooting.

I am thankful for the followers I have picked up during my WordPress bloggin journey and hope that you will continue to follow the blog in it’s new home.

I am going to leave this blog up until I can figure out how to have the existing links point to the new site (if that is even possible)

Thank you again, and keep your eyes open for a new post this evening!

Two Adorable Sisters

5 Dec

A couple of years ago, I photographed the the very adorable newborn Neve along with her sister Chloe.  Well I had the chance to photograph them again.  This time a friend of the family hired me to do some portraits as a Christmas present, so there are some that I cannot show, but they know about the present so I am allowed to show you some.  Get ready to be charmed to the point of near death.  Yes, they are THAT cute!

At The Lonely End Of The Rink

25 Nov

On Friday I was so pumped up about shooting at night after posting about it, I had to get out again.  Myself and a couple of other photographers got together and headed out.  We started at a park just south of the Danforth where, we stumbled on an empty rink, I thought of the lockout and the Tragically Hip song that inspired the title for this post.  From there we went downtown.  Here are a few frames.

Underpass Park – Toronto Development

23 Nov

I got out last weekend to do a bit of night shooting.  If you follow my blog, you know that Toronto at night is one of my favourite things to photograph.  Last week we got down to Underpass Park, part of the waterfront development plan here in Toronto.  If you get a chance, check it out either by day or nigh, it is a wonderful spot!

Justin and Camellia Wedding – Toronto Wedding Photographer

10 Nov

Remember Justin and Camellia. What a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. Justin and Camellia celebrated both a catholic and a Baha’i ceremony. This was my first time witnessing a Baha’i ceremony and it was beautiful. The ceremony is a simple prayer and exchange of vows and it speaks directly of the love and commitment that the couple shares with each other. The day included a Major traffic jam and lots of rain, but nothing outweighed the tremendous love that Justin and Camellia have for each other.

Toronto Street Shooting Photowalk

9 Nov

Yesterday, I got the chance to go out on a photowalk with more than 20 other great photographers.  Here are a bunch of images that I grabbed, as you’ll see, we found a lot of skaters.

It was really cool to bump into my old friend Taha on the walk, we ended up spending the whole day shooting together along with my friend Simon.  I didn’t know that he had taken up photography and further to that he is the greatest iPhone photographer I’ve ever met.  Seriously.  check out his Instagram feed and see for yourself.  That said, I processed everything from yesterday’s walk in black and white with the exception of this portrait that I grabbed of Taha, the colour was just too good.  You can see Simon’s set from yesterday by clicking here .  It’s neat to see how we each captured similar situations from different perspectives. Jay McIntyre Photography Toronto Street Photography Taha

Jeff And Natasha In Love And Getting Married

26 Oct

Remember Jeff and Natasha? We met up in Kensington Market on one of the nicer days this fall and did some exploring with a bit of picture taking along the way with a minor interruption in the way of a Steam Whistle delivery truck.  What a lovely couple! I am excited to be a part of their upcoming wedding.
