On Friday I was so pumped up about shooting at night after posting about it, I had to get out again. Myself and a couple of other photographers got together and headed out. We started at a park just south of the Danforth where, we stumbled on an empty rink, I thought of the lockout and the Tragically Hip song that inspired the title for this post. From there we went downtown. Here are a few frames.
Underpass Park – Toronto Development
23 NovI got out last weekend to do a bit of night shooting. If you follow my blog, you know that Toronto at night is one of my favourite things to photograph. Last week we got down to Underpass Park, part of the waterfront development plan here in Toronto. If you get a chance, check it out either by day or nigh, it is a wonderful spot!
It obviously never hurts to run into a skater while photographing a skatepark.
A little self potrait action
Toronto Street Shooting Photowalk
9 NovYesterday, I got the chance to go out on a photowalk with more than 20 other great photographers. Here are a bunch of images that I grabbed, as you’ll see, we found a lot of skaters.
It was really cool to bump into my old friend Taha on the walk, we ended up spending the whole day shooting together along with my friend Simon. I didn’t know that he had taken up photography and further to that he is the greatest iPhone photographer I’ve ever met. Seriously. check out his Instagram feed and see for yourself. That said, I processed everything from yesterday’s walk in black and white with the exception of this portrait that I grabbed of Taha, the colour was just too good. You can see Simon’s set from yesterday by clicking here . It’s neat to see how we each captured similar situations from different perspectives.
Eiji and Angela Married – Shot for Ecstatic Photography
18 SepA while ago, my wife introduced me to Simon from Ecstatic Photography and this weekend I had the opportunity to shoot second on one of his weddings. What a beautiful wedding it was. I’m thankful for the chance to shoot it and hope to shoot more for Simon in the future.

Night Fashion Shoot
30 NovI’ve been wanting to get out for a while now and shoot some night time fashion in order to take advantage of some of the great mixtures of light that the night provides. I connected with a model through Model Mayhem and we were able to set aside an evening to get out and shoot. The wether got a bit chilly as the night went on, but she stuck it out and we walked away from the evening with some images that we were both happy with.
Doors Open Toronto
1 JunI had the opportunity to head out with a couple of friends and check out Doors Open Toronto this past weekend, and It was great. What was particularly great was simply getting out and shooting for about 6 hours in this awesome city of ours! if we hadn’t gotten the chance to get inside the buildings that we did, I’m positive that we would have still been pleased with our day, but getting into the buildings really was enjoyable. We hit The Gladstone, The Drake, the CAMH old wall, Graffitti ally, Stopped to pick up a cigar at Frank Correnti Cigar, (rolled on location!) The Canada Life building, Osgoode hall, (we were surprised, but this may have been the most interesting stop) The Bank Of Commerce, and Brookfield Place. Plus a whole bunch of shots of everything in between.
Here are a few shots from the day that, Ive chosen to replace our dining room collection:
