Mary’s Loons at the MS Walk
18 AprEvery once and a while it’s nice to just be a guy at a thing with a camera. Today was the MS Walk and seeing as her mother has MS, Michelle decided to rally her family around Mary to show their support. She organized a team for us all to take part, so this morning we all, including mary went for a 2k walk.
Colour Me – A Documentary
12 AprA while ago, I was given the opportunity and privilege to photograph a Taza Media documentary production called Colour Me. The film follows Anthony McLean, a motivational speaker and his continuing journey to define himself. Anthony works with a group of high school students, leading them through a series of discussions and activities to help them define what it means to be ‘black’ as he himself deals with the same question.
I was blessed to be given a glimpse into the lives of each of the students as they define for themselves what it means to be black. Each one sees their coulor in a different light with different meanings and implications for them and society.
As Anthony works with the students, his eyes seem to be opened, not only to how the students perceive ‘blackness’ but also to his own perceptions and possible misconceptions.
The film airs on Omni in the Spring of 2011. And watch the Toronto Sun for an article this weekend that features Sherien from Red Piano Productions and this film.

Beautiful Jolie Hope Hensen
1 AprRemember Val and Jeff?
Babies only stay inside bellies for so long, and the world is fortunate for that in this case, because Jolie is absolutely adorable! She was very compliant as we asked her to hold poses and look certain ways. Actually we only asked her to look cute and not pee on daddy. Well done.
It was such a pleasure to be a part of the ‘before and after’ of Jolie. I am looking forward to sharing the joy of her many siblings to come. (Right Val and Jeff?)
